In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Ms. Hillary

It is with deep sadness and huge heartache that I write this message to you to let you know of the sudden death of Ms. Hillary Lopez, School Social Worker.  She was killed in an automobile accident Thursday, December 16th. The sudden death of Ms. Hillary Lopez has a significant impact on our entire school community. The school community sends our condolences and thoughts out to her family and friends.

Friday, December 17th, as the school community processed the tragic news and coped with grief, we provided counseling and bereavement support services to all of our students and staff. We expect a variety of reactions to this loss from our students, parents, and members of our staff. Some of these reactions may be mild, others may be more intense.

The Franklin school community is strong and will continue to come together to support staff, students and families as we remember Ms. Hillary Lopez.

I have included some resources below to support you in these difficult times.
  • Please utilize the Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 for 24/7 crisis support.
  • Call the Bill Wilson Contact Cares line at (408) 850-6125 to schedule a session with a grief counselor (open through the holidays).
Please join us on Wednesday, March 2nd @ 5:30pm for a memorial vigil in her honor.
