Mrs. Boram’s 6th Grade Class: Presentation to the FMSD Board of Education

On January 8th, Mrs. Boram and her students presented at the board meeting to talk about the elimination of straws and a new recycling program. Katie Kieu and Pauline Nguyen presented a speech written by both girls, and also Chu Le, explaining the impacts straws and plastic waste have done to our Earth and what we could do as a community to help our planet. After they finished presenting their speech, Mrs. Boram had made her own speech explaining costs and acknowledging the kids’ hard work. Many parents, teachers, and staff also were present to support the cause. Superintendent Cruz is supporting this cause by visiting their class to talk about a new recycling program.
