Carlos Marquez was born and raised in Huelva, Spain. He moved to San Jose in 2003. He completed a Multiple-Subjects Teaching Credential at U.C. Santa Cruz, and also holds a Single-Subject Credentials in Biology. He started working as a Kindergarten teacher for Franklin Elementary in 2005. He taught Kindergarten for 6 years. Every year Mr. Marquez is amazed by how much the Kindergartners grow in a single school year.

 

In addition to teaching, Mr. Marquez was the Project Specialist at Franklin for 6 years taking care of the coordination of state testing and parent engagement. After that he taught for two years the Newcomers Class for 4th, 5th and 6th grade.

 

In his free time, Mr. Marquez enjoys hiking with his family and friends, playing guitar and bird watching.
