Profile

I was born in Taiwan, but grew up in San Jose and went to high school at Mount Pleasant High School. Much of my younger years were focused on the Math and Sciences, but literature slowly became a passion, so I received a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature at UC Davis. My teaching credential was completed at San Jose State University. I have been teaching at Franklin Elementary School since 2006 and have enjoyed working with the students, families, and staff of this community. The strong ties between families and teachers is a very welcome feeling, and it is the best way to ensure that students are getting the best teamwork possible towards a great education.

In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, playing video games, watching Japanese anime, and spending time with my cat. I enjoy making strong connections with students and always look forward to having a nice conversation.

My goal is to make sure that students enjoy the time that they are at school and to instill the feeling that learning is something fun and exciting. It is important that students feel listened to and understood. When students feel genuinely happy and excited to be at school, then that is a great step towards guiding them to becoming self-motivated life-long learners. :)
