It is with great pride that I continue my service as principal at Franklin Elementary School. If we learned anything in the past school year, it’s that our Franklin Patriot community is strong and resilient. I am so thankful to be part of such a passionate and caring school community. Like it says in our newly developed mission, Franklin is truly a multicultural learning environment where students’ differences are celebrated and where students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally to achieve success inside and outside of the classroom.
This year as we return to campus with in-person learning, we will utilize our Energy Bus for Schools initiative to welcome students back to Franklin with open arms and invite students and families to join the ride as we rebuild our positive school climate and address any socio-emotional needs that may arise. We will continue to strive to be a diverse learning community where students celebrate differences, show empathy toward others, and use growth mindsets to actively solve problems in order to create a more just and evolving world.
I will continue to send out weekly newsletters via our new communication platform Parent Square, as well as posted under the “Communication” tab on our website. We hope with CDC regulations that we will get to the point where our weekly announcements can be held on Monday mornings at the start of school as a whole-school kick-off out on the blacktop (weather permitting). I also welcome each of you to reach out to me via email, phone or in person, as my door is always open. I want everyone in our Franklin community to be excited to be a part of our family and the best way I can support that is through getting to know you and your families even better.
I encourage you to get involved in your child’s educational experience through the various opportunities such as volunteering, School Site Council meetings, English Language Advisory Committee meetings, joining us for parent workshops and attending our wonderful community events. We look forward to a rebuilding year with our fabulous Franklin community back on campus and am eager to remind everyone why we are so darn proud to be Franklin Patriots.
Here’s to another great year as proud Franklin Patriots!
