Dear Parent / Guardians:
It’s hard to believe this school year is already coming to a close. Your children have worked so hard and come so far since August. Please know how very proud we are of each individual student!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have made this school year so productive and pleasant for our whole school community including our Franklin Instructional and Support Staff, our Parents Classroom Volunteers, Latino Literacy Club, Little Hero’s, KidsClub Representatives, and, of course, the CORAL staff. It is the efforts of all members of our school community that allow Franklin to continue being one of FMSD’s highest performing schools.
The end of this school year is especially moving as we bid farewell to not only our 6th grade students, but also some members of our instructional Franklin Family: Kristi Billings (Fourth Grade Instructor); Elisa Hwang-Mendez (Fourth Grade Instructor), and Tanisha Billops (First Grade Instructor). Thank you for your dedication and hard work. Though each of you will be missed and we wish you each much success and joy in your future, please know you will always be a part of our Franklin Family.
As Franklin readies for the summer transition and our move to a new office and 12 new classrooms, please remember to mark the following dates on your calendars:
Although summer can be busy, I would like to encourage our Franklin parents and guardians to continue to help our children to maintain, enhance, and expand the academic skills they have acquired during the school year. To help students accomplish this, they can continue to use the following fun and easy-to-access websites:
TumbleBooks: for reading; www.tumblebooks.com –username: franklinbooks / Password: books
BrainPop: for reading – Password: Patriots
Starfall: for phonics/reading; www.starfall.com
AAA Math: www.aaamath.com
Math Playground: www.mathplayground.com
On a personal note, I want to wish you all a safe, happy, and relaxing summer. Thank you again for entrusting your children’s education to our Franklin family. We look forward to seeing you all again on, the first day of school for 2017-2018 school year.
